Simulation of intelligent wheel rotational speed sensors
With the intelligent wheel rotational speed simulation "RDG-SIM" SMART Electronic Development GmbH of Stuttgart has brought a product to market that can simulate almost all commercial passive and active wheel rotational speed sensors.
RDG-SIM is used where control units are operated or tested in a laboratory environment. Up to four sensors, with output signals corresponding to those of real wheel rotational speed sensors, can be simulated in parallel. Various wheel rotational speed sensors of type DF11i (2 settable current values) and sensors with VDA-standardised data protocol (3 settable current values) can be selected and the simulation parameters (e.g. speed, wheel diameter, number of pulses and sensor-specific properties such as air gap reserve error, left or right rotation, fitting position error, etc.) set by remote control over CAN or USB.
As well as intelligent sensor simulation with freely settable data protocol (Manchester code), RDG-SIM optionally offers fault simulation. This permits all parameters such as amplitude of the output current, limit frequencies, etc., to be freely set.
